I look off into the horizon. sunset. "I Guess I have to stay in this tree" I say. I look at my wound. "But how will I heal that..."
I did the only thing I could do. I turned into a wolf and howled. I howled as loud as I could, hoping someone will hear it, and help.I turned back to human because wolves weren't meant to be in trees. I tried to sleep. I couldn't, the pain prevented me from sleeping. even when I did fall asleep, I had the same nightmare. A nightmare of blood, death, and despair. The starts twinkled like glitter until I finally dosed off. I had a very strange dream that night. My fur wasn't its normal color, it was a brown. when I awakened. I serveyed my surroundings. Aha! A pond. just what I needed. Not just for a drink to quench my thirst but to clean my wound. I climbed down and turned into a wolf once more. I limped towards the small pond filled with silvery fish. When I least expected it I heard it. A howl. Furrytail's howl. I quickly replied with my own howl. Then I stopped. I knew she was coming. I heard a rustling in the bushes and the FurryTail jumped out.
"Likos!" she cried. She nuzzled me and then scented blood? she looked at my leg in shock.
"The bear got you?"
"Yes. it did. but it's long gone" I reply as I lap up some water. I stare off, looking at the surface of the shimmering pond.
Furry noticed I was lost in thoughts and she asked "Likos?"
"Yes?"
"I feel like we have to stay together. Like...like its our destiny."
"..."
"I think so too."
Suddenly I remembered my injury and my leg started to hurt again.
"I found a place we could stay at night. It's under a berry bush."
Right as she said that I noticed the sun was high over our heads.
"Were we here really that long?" I thought.
My leg still hurt, I licked it every now and then. I was lost in thought once more and I forgot about my pain. I fell asleep and had the same dream I had the night before. I felt a paw and I woke up. FurryTail was nudging me awake.
"We wasted a whole day napping and we found NO prey!" FurryTail said.
I thought of the rabbit I had buried. it was far away now. When she mentioned prey my stomach growled. it was sunset and there was no food. I sighed.
"We have to live without prey tonight. she got to her feet while I struggled to get up. I leaned on her and we walked to the den. Something told me that tomorrow WILL be better.
