Just because it's unlocked doesn't justify stealing, that's like accidentally leaving your house unlocked and people stealing from you

Perhaps they're new and didn't know how to let they're friend open it so they used /unlock so their friend had access to it. How would you feel if you were new, thought stealing wasn't allowed, did that and then the next day all your hard earned items are gone?

That's why if the chest is outside, unlocked, I consider it fair game. You leave a chest in the middle of no where unlocked, good luck keeping your stuff in it.
If it's in a house, that's a whole different story. If it's in a house, it's their property. End of story.
