I need help

So i cant get on the server cause im in 1.7.7 What do i do

Well you should never upgrade your version of minecraft immediately if you want to play multiplayer. You will have to downgrade your version or wait until the server updates.

Open your launcher.

In the bottom left corner of the screen, there is a drop down menu next to the word Profiles:


Below that, there is a button that says "New Profile"

Click on that and it'll bring up a separate screen that looks like this:


Leave everything as it is, and focus solely on where the drop down menu is, next to the word "Use Version"

Click on it, and it'll open a menu dating back to around 1.0, you need to simply click on version 1.7.4, listed on mine as "Release 1.7.4"

Now, after selecting that, exit the launcher by hitting 'Save Game Profile' or 'Save Profile'

You should see it appear in that box I was talking about earlier. Click that, open it up, and you should have McTopia available to join.

It's surprising how many people still update to the latest version, then expect that their favourite server has magically updated with them. I don't think the Bukkit Devs can physically code fast enough to make a bukkit update available the minute after a vanilla update. Unless they have a group of slaves in China or something, coding away for every update....
