Alright, so. I think we should have a thing in the jails section about how long you should jail someone for based on their crime. To get staff you need to know that stuff, but to get SD or Vip-obsidian you need 60-100 dollars and you don't need to know anything. So, if you're a new jailing rank that post could come in handy. Please note that the jail times would be recommended. With that being said, I'm done.

Unfortunately it is simply impossible to do this, there are WAY too many variations to account for, that's why /jail should have someone who is experienced at using it. (Reasons No. - *Slaps hand*)

I'll make a basic draft here, and this is my own opinion. Please feel free to correct me on your personal suggestions. Discretion is of course yours, but these are just some vague guidelines.

Whinging in jail, after a valid jail - 5,10, then appropriate minute mutes.

Griefing (5-20 blocks, or 'Minor') - 6 Hours.
Griefing (20+ Blocks, 'Valuable' block house or 'Major') - 1 day minimum, and add appropriate time if the crime suits a longer sentence.
Griefing (Leveling a village, or The End xD) - 156 years, or until someone can ban the offender.
Griefing (The Flatworld, where it is assumed no griefing will occur) - Severe jail, I recommend 1 Week, Because the people building there should know the rules, and a report, so it can be rolled back.

Spamming (Accidental, Once) - Warning.
Spamming (After being warned, but just annoyingly filling chat) - Mute 10 minutes.
Spamming (Caps or Swearing) - Mute 10 minutes.
Spamming (Caps AND Swearing, or repeat offenders for the previous 3) - Mute 1 hour.
Spamming (Commands (/tphere, /tpa, /me, etc) or otherwise non member) - Jail and mute, preferably 1/2 an hour co-currently.
Advertising - Ban.

Discrimination (One time Racism, Sexism or hate speech, or in a (sick minded and wrong) joke) - Warning.
Discrimination (Repeated, Severe or otherwise blatant Racism, Sexism or Hate Speech) - Mute 10 minutes, then increasing per offence, in the multiple of hours. (Half an Hour, 1 Hour, 2 Hours, 3 Hours, 6 Hours, 12 hours, 1 day and so on)

Impersonation (Obviously joking) - Warning.
Impersonation (Vague attempt) - 10 minute mute.
Impersonation (Trying really hard, arguing with people disputing, Pretending to be from PMC, etc) - Mute and Jail infinitely, and post for a ban.

Asking people to spawn items - Warnings, and if repeated, follow 'Spamming" advice above.

Home Kills (Once, and the person killed is given back items IN FULL and is ok with it) - Warning, but feel free to post a report a player if the need arises.
Home Kills (Once, but the deceased player is upset/not happy) - Jail 1 hour.
Home Kills (Repeated, but the people are ok) - 1 Hour.

Offensive Skins (as a joke) - Warnings, and reports on the 'Report a Player' section.
Offensive skins (to offend, or ignoring the orders of others that it is offensive) - Jail until resolved, and preferably not at a spawn jail, alex1 or sky jail will suffice.

Lag Machines (Accidental) - Warning, and/or immediate removal
Lag Machines (Purposeful) - Ban

Fly PvP (The other person is alright with it) - Warning
Fly PvP (The other person complains) - Jail for an hour
Fly PvP (Repeat offender) - Jail for 3,6,12 hours, etc.

Magic Carpet Offence (Use in a public place, annoying others with it) - Warnings, then 1/2, 1,2,3,4,5,6 hour jails, etc.

Sethome offence (PvP camping) - Warning, then a report a player.

Only inspiron can make stickies, otherwise I'd sticky it.

This is a great guide, but unfortunately I doubt anyone would use this (I wish they would, but look at the trusted applications >.<) because people are lazy and have grudges.
Most of this is pretty accurate, but I'd maybe bump something to be a day longer to impress the 'Don't break our rules.'

Every lag machine found by inspi or Chall = Ban,
I have seen inspiron ban Nicks brother for a month for a laggy villager breeder, for the reason "Lag"
Chall banned Matt for lag machines but it was a warning to let himself explain things, if it wasn't 't a good enough reason Matt would have to appeal.

Most lag issues end up as a ban if they are not explained like Matt did.
Such as: "it was a villager breeder and it was accidental" , the worst response is: "I wanted to crash the server".

So Jam :p, people usually get banned for lag machines if it was not accidental or they wanted to kill the server.
