Just so you know tobi, before I start explaining this, I'm not at all angry at you, just please read this.


Recently, Drew tped me to 'GodsChair' which was something toilethound built. This entire room/house was made out of goldenblocks, impossible for a new member who constantly gets killed by bk to obtain (Ridiculous amount) I asked for him to tp to his abode, he did and I was going through his chests when I found the motherload. There are multiples of these, and going through hawkeye records shows that this chest is practically empty when compared to before.




This guy walks around with absolutely nothing in his inventory and constantly gets killed by BK, no way could be obtain this legitimately. No way. To try and find out how this could of happened, I sifted through 33 pages of hawkeye to see if the culprit could be caught red handed.

(If you're interested, there was a steady flow of diamonds and such items flowing through the chest, up to 1000 + diamonds at a time.)

It wasn't till the VERY end of the 33 pages that I found a few questionable transactions. The first one shocked me when I saw it.
Tobi put in 1 x stack of diamonds.

What.

Below this I saw that she took out 2 x Stacks of Grilled pork so I thought to myself, that's reasonable I guess. So any curiosity died within. Later on, on the very last pages however, I saw that tobi was the one to put in a large quota of pork in the first place, then I suddenly remembered her talking about giving legit items to new members, but making a transaction with items that you gave them yourself it rather weird O.o
Not breaking the rules, just strange.

I remember being tped inside tobi's house and seeing chests with the

Marker on a sign, so I decided to check out the contents of her chests myself.
I asked drew and he knew the warp [/warp houseoftobi]


So I looked in the chest. I saw the following:
Diamonds:

Iron:

Emeralds:

There are, of course, more chests with more crazy amounts but, I feel that I should concentrate on these three.

I've tped to tobi to see her mining before, but as can be seen in this picture here:


Her smelting, excavation and mining skill are just way too low for the amounts of items inside. [Mining =358, Excavation = 168, Smelting =180 ]
I mined a lot, but my iron and diamonds [Didn't mine a single emerald, which are worth 1800 exp each] came from pvp and Mob Arena. My mining diamonds and iron werent even CLOSE to what was in those chests.

Upon further investigation, drew told me that it is practically impossible to mine that many emeralds on a standard single player world. Etho did 115+ episodes and didn't get near that many, on a server with people constantly mining and taking those. Also, only world 3 had them and I'm assuming most of those emeralds were in that chest BEFORE 1.7.

It just doesn't add up.

Upon even further investigation (I wanted so hard to quell my doubts and prove them legit.)
I asked zombie about his legit items, he showed me his diamond chest, it may look like much in comparison but...


That's only two stacks and some leftovers worth, nothing in comparison and Zombie... Spent A LOT of time mining, and tobi, you're a social person.

Lets get some math in here.

Amount of diamonds:
201 Blocks + 2 Diamonds.
201 x 9 = 1809 + 2 = 1811

1811 Diamonds.


Amount of Iron:
712 Blocks + 66 Ironingots
712 x 9 = 6408 + 66 = 6474

6474 Iron Ingots.

Amount of Emeralds:
49 Blocks + 8 emeralds
49 x 9 = 441 + 8 = 449

449 emeralds.

The amounts here are VERY questionable, please explain how you got these many legit with your absence and the low amount of time you spend mining >.<

Another thing to mention. It's not secret that mcman has an iron golem farm at his disposal, he's kept it running for over 3 days of staying around it and building and has gotten about the same amount as tobi, which is crazy!

Another thing to mention, Cori was talking about diamond and such ores and mining with a diamond pick, tobi mentioned not ever trying that, so that method is out the window too.

That's not the main thing about this topic however, just so you know, giving people lots of stuff when they join the server kinda ruins the fun of it :/
If a server is survival only and you have a bunch of diamonds, what's the point? Most people haven't immersed theirself in the community by the time they reach that point, so they get bored and leave, it's sad. I know it's not yourfault and that you just want to help people, just be wary of this please

Just out of further interest in statistics, the average for diamonds gotten from a using a fortune 3 pick on diamond ore would be 70.4. (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Enchanting#Enchantments)

Using that method, you can the average price per diamond would then be (180/99). Multiply that by 1811, and you get 3292+(8/11). That rounds up 3293 iron ingots. In other words, 365 iron blocks and 8 iron ingots. 5 stacks of iron blocks, 45 iron blocks, and 8 iron ingots. To add context to this, I've been on McTopia 9 days, playing nearly all of every day over winter break. I have two stacks of iron blocks in my enderchest, earned by selling wheat, stone, cobble, and occasionally some sand, gold, or emeralds. That could buy 70 diamond blocks and 3 diamonds using the method I've already described.

These numbers are mostly here to show that on this server, diamonds aren't worth as much as they are on any other server. Tobiii's chest of diamonds could very well be earned through trading, and the low value of diamonds would still affect that.

Alright! So let's get started.

Toilethound.
I have virtually no clue about toilethound's diamonds. I remember a while back, he said he used a spawner/mob grinder/of some sort to kill lots of pigs, and he sold me about a double chest of pigs for iron. I gave him about half the amount of pork he gave me in iron ingots, and you know I go easy with prices, so it was justified to me (2 iron ingots = 1 pork, pork are easy to find). He must've sold the iron to another spawning rank for diamonds, I suppose? I'm not sure. But I gave him about a chest of iron in return for his double chest of pork. That's it.

If I gave him any pork, he must have paid for it.

Cori’s Diamonds.
This will be short. When you asked me if it had occurred to me to mine ores with a Fortune pickaxe, I thought you meant the idea of buying large quantities of diamond ore, then mining it with a Fortune pickaxe as a way to beat the system and, in a way, receive an infinite influx of ore product. Which, hasn't occurred to me, but my pickaxe currently has Fortune III on it, and I do use that often. That was a misunderstanding. I in fact HAVE thought of mining with Fortune.

And, Cori, thank you for the statistics, I appreciate the help.

Giving things to members.
Now, it's a common fact that I give new members some supplies and tools to get them started. However, I will say that I never give in excess. I know that overgiving ruins the fun of a survival server, so I usually give a set of iron or diamond tools, with at MOST a stack of iron, and about half a stack of pork (obviously from the stash that toilethound sold to me). I would never give too much.

Spawning.
I can comfortably say I don't think I've ever spawned anything for someone else. If I did, it was most likely something decorative and useless, like a few flowers. I'm under the impression I've never broken a large rule like that, and I believe it's true.

My chests.
This paragraph is going to be the longest, I know that. I've been talked to about this before. Eva talked to me about this just recently.

Now, as a SuperDonor, after Robby, Eva, and Em got Admin in 2012, I saw it as an opportunity to prove myself worthy for staff. I helped anyone at any time, and much of that was selling items to other people. You may not believe me, but I did a LOT of selling to others. Trade was the biggest request I received in my mad rush to prove myself worthy. Spawn eggs, blocks, enchants, tools, you name it. During that time I've sold it to someone as long as it didn't overstep the rules. I did jobs which people payed me for. All of this was over the course of about a year. Especially when I came back from my leave.

And, as you know, I mined. I mine more than most think, however I’m not trying to peg all of my ores on mining. Obviously I don’t mine ALL that much, it’s proven in my scores. However, I do try to mine each day, with “Colin”, my Fortune III pickaxe. I always mine in my personal one, an undiscovered abandoned mine shaft with plenty of ore. Bridget as well as Eva both know this. This combined with the pickaxe yields often over a stack of iron ore each day. When smelted, the ores add up.

If you want to be picky, I got SuperDonor at around Christmas 2012, so the year mark just passed. Subtract five months for my temporary leave, and that’s still seven months of trading and mining, never a day being online passing where I didn’t do one or the other.

Conclusion.
So, to close my spiel, I assure you I’ve still kept up my “clean streak”, and I apologize for the misunderstanding and false first impression I might have put up. I know it’s startling looking through my chests, but I’m glad you posted this, because it’s been a question many people of high ranking have asked me over the past year and a half I’ve been loyal to the server.

And I do assure you as well I'm not offended, hurt, or upset by this at all, I know it was a post created from a purely beneficial desire for the server and for me. I love you bunches as well.

I hope this helped clear up the predicament.

No no no, it's fine, I'm glad he posted it. It's not a trust issue or a friendship issue, he made this post trying to benefit the server, which is good. I got to clear everything up publicly as well, which is also good, because I've been asked about this before. But thank you.

Just to clear things up a little bit.

I obtained all of these using legitiment means. Mostly mining and trading (with the server shop) with some PVP without using any generation methods.

I counted all of my Iron gold diamonds and emeralds.

Iron: 23395 ingots

Gold: 583 ingots and 6 nuggets

Diamond: 661 diamonds

Emeralds: 584 Emeralds.

As they are only in 1.3/1.7 and only in Mountain biomes

I coulda swore I talked about em....huh. I guess not. Sorry xD

I got those a WHILE back, and if my memory serves me correctly, they're (almost) all from trading. What wasn't from trading was from mining. I've mined them before, and that with my pickaxe increased the number of product. But I'm pretty sure they're almost all from trade.

As for the actual source of the emeralds, I have no idea. If Drew says it's impossible to mine that many on a standard singleplayer world, I'm under the impression that the players I traded them for traded with villagers when they were around, or with other spawning ranks....I have no clue.
