after my research on BJ I found out the song wake me up when September ends was dedicated to his father,
when bj was 10 his father died of lung cancer. at the funeral billie couldn't take it so he ran home and his mother followed, when his mum found him in his bedroom with the door locke she begged him to come out, billie responded with, wake me up when September ends...
