i dont think age limits the amount of awareness you can have. if an 8 year old reads this and they don't understand it, they it doesnt matter.
if they do, and they have valid input, go them!

First of all she's thirteen and second of all why does it matter? She could be an extremely intelligent and mature NINE year old for all that this topic is related to! Age should NOT be a difference whether you participate In a discussion or not.

Age shouldn't effect if people can take place in a discussion.
When I was 9, I knew what was going on...

Let me clear it, I said 13+ for few reasons
1- Because lots of children gets scared of this kind of stuff and gets nightmares.
2-I wanted to have people who knew about the subject or have heard about it, because i don't think a nine year old would listen the news and understand everything about whats going because I'm sure they would understand few things and just keep talking about the same thing over and over and what they've understand might a whole other thing.
And what does it change if I set an age? It's my post. I dedicated it to people who I think would know more about it and people who are 13 and older. It's kind of like saying, 'Why does clubs have a set age? everyone should be able to go there.' and then you can put your reasons such as, Well they're 13-14 they already know about it why not let them go there?... I'm not saying that it's the same thing, but it's just would be the same sort of problem.
