i do agree that this one is kinda pointless and stupid as hell (though actually did happen) but a friend told me if i in the future want to go for admin or mod, i need to be more active on the forums and posting my own topics would mean replies which would mean me replying so my number of posts goes up faster, this seemed like a better idea than to post on 1-3 month old discussions
