If I find something griefed, I have a couple of things I consider.

1) Why? Was the grief to troll, revenge, or resources. Easy way to know if it was to troll is if they have recently bought SD, or if they used the blocks broken in the same building to add random blocks everywhere. Based on why, I add anywhere from 1 hour, to one day

2) How much? I have a 3 levels of grief system
I) 5 or less blocks, usually to get into a place, or maybe lag. Warning if its there first time
II) 6 or more blocks, griefing on purpose, and griefing is a zero tolerance rule, in my opinion. 1 day
III) 25 or more, pretty much griefing with a passion. You really want to tick the person you are griefing off, or you like what they have (i.e. expensive resources). 1-3 days.

All the thing are more or less about how I see grief. there are also other things I consider, and the list could go on and on. Just goes to show, jail time is dependent on who dictates the /jail command at the time.

You can easily break up to 8 blocks by accident, I've done it
I think I've broken about 20 on accident

Why does everyone jail people for days, if I saw 30 block grief, I'd go for 7-8 hours tops

If you broke 20 blocks on accident, would you not attempt to fix them?

It varies if it is malicious or not.

It depends on the block, player, place, ect.
If it was glass, I would very rarely jail unless it was clearly on purpose. If it was a very rare block, the person had a reason to grief, and it wasn't a random act of mean-ness,
they just needed supplies. That would be maybe a hour or two less than the normal jail.

If it was a weak block, wood maybe, not a lot was broken, and the person PvPs a lot, it probably was an accident.
If it was someone who was jailed a lot before, I'd take them to Boo's School [WIP]
Being new, being recently jailed or unbanned, rank, ect. also effect the jail time.

Let's say a SuperDonor broke around 20 iron, gold, and diamond blocks. I'd jail them for one day, because they have creative mode, and there is no reason what so ever that they should be taking these blocks.

A new member breaks 5 wood blocks from a house near spawn. I'd jail for around 4 hours because they are new, and it is their first time doing something wrong.

This is an ideal situation.
A new SD griefed 10 + blocks of any kind. They were jailed many times before. I would "jail" them in Boo's School, where I would come and talk to them for a while.

I meant more or less. Like boo said, it all depends on if it is malicious or not. If its like 6 wool, I would fix it, and give the person a warning. If it was all the precious blocks under a beacon, then it would be a day. I also mentioned that there are many other factors I did not state. I take a lot of things into consideration before I jail. Oftentimes, I spend 5-10 minutes looking at all the factors. It's a long process, but I promise you, my jails are fair.

but what is the rule for removing pretty much screwed structures. This is why we have 5 (Main, World 2, World 3, Flatlands and Nethers/End) worlds, when we only really need 2. A Minecraft map is statisically bigger than earth, so why not utilise the room, the other ones would be flatlands and an up to date world <img src=" title="Smile">
THANK YOU

Because the worlds have borders, if a world gets too big, it stresses the server, making it more laggy.
