We have both colleges and universities in the USA. They are really the same in the USA but..... College has fewer subjects and I'm pretty sure they only offer undergraduate classes. University is more expensive, has more subjects and has undergraduate AND postgraduate. Undergraduate is what you take after high school or whenever and postgraduate is what you take after it to higher your education or like get a Masters or PhD (Bachelors is the lowest.. well there is lower but it doesn't matter.)

And, I guess from my knowledge from my visits to the UK, secondary school is like our high school (7-11 grades, except in the USA it's 9-12). And then you get an adult education I guess and then that can get you into uni. Why is it so confusing T-T

Correct me if i'm wrong though :3

From the grades 1 - 6, you are in Primary School, ya know, not hard work.
From the grades 7 - 12 you are in Secondary School, high school, whatever. Much harder, but still not hard.
University, you go there once a day for a certain amount of hours, it's flexible and some days you don't even need to go, so you can have your part time job (Which you should have by Uni if you want a stable financial life ahead) on those days.
And, if you want to get a PhD in something, basically you need to study certain things, pass them, then get accepted, etc. It just takes more and more time.
It's simple, flexible, easy.

Grades kindergarten- 5th grade are elementary. 6th - 8th are middle school. 9th - 12th are high school. Afterwards, you apply for college. You have a major that you study. 4 years to get the first degree, then 4 or 2 or 3 for the next.

In total, to be a psychologist, I'm going to college for 10 years.

If you want.
You can live in a dorm, a nearby house or apartment, or you could go to a nearby college and live at home.
