the way i understand it the tardis doesnt actually have a physical form of its own, its a time vortex, hence why its name accronym has nothing to do with it being a machine, its its own relative dimension existing within space and time. we know a tardis cannot be built, it must be grown. i wonder if one could use a tardis to build another one...BUT! it does also appear that every object within the tardis is still its own dimension even when they are taken out, as seen in the episode where the tardis conciousness was removed and put into a female body. they built a new tardis in that one out of parts of the old ones that had been eaten, so of course the tardis is still a tardis even when it quits being a tardis. this would also explain the translating effect, they dont get altered, they become part of the tardis in order to shift through space and time. am i forgetting anything?

The TARDIS is an organic life form, but can be built if the tardis soul is in it, as shown in the episode you referenced!
