I woke up with the dogs scratch. I didn't want to see what my injury might look like. I was on wood, I moved my paws, maybe a bit high up. Wait, wood? I opened my eyes, to find I was in a house, and my wound wasn't a bloody mess. I was on a window sill. I don't care that I hurt, I got up and jumped down. Thump.
My paws hit the ground. I couldn't hear people, probably the we're out. I explored every room I could. Which was all of them, except one. I leapt up and turned my paws on the door knob, opening it. Then I heard the door open. The people are back, are they mean or kind?

After I had emptied the field of carrots, except for a select few, I crawled over to the rather large cabin. I call it a cabin because the walls are firmly stacked logs. I hear footsteps and some chattering voices, and Poof! my velvet ears are gone.
Peeking up through a small window, I gaze inside. Firelight dances around in a brick red fireplace, while smooth stone floors stop the fire from spreading. The kitchen is right next door to the fire place, and the counter snakes along the wall. It has stone floors too.
A table stands alone on a rug, waiting to serve dinner. A lonely flowerpot sits on the table, waiting to house a flower. Little did Melody know, that pot wasn't to be filled for a long time.
That's all I saw when the door opened with a creak, and people come in with something. It wasn't moving, so it must be unconscious. The wound looked deep, but the people did a fair job cleaning it up.
I left soon after, just examining the field for a living space. Nothing so far but tall grass (a good hiding place), a rose bush (also good hiding place), and a small dip in the ground. It wasn't too small, so after digging in the soft earth as a bunny it was a tiny cliff overhanging a den.
Gathering long grass, clumps of my fur, and a few feathers I had found near the river, there was a comfy nest to sleep in. Lucky for me, it was nearing night. Laying down in the soft bed, I float off to the dream land. I dreamt of chasing another bunny in the field.
In the morning, I peeked out to see some people.

Standing on the roof of the old house, I frowned at Cal.
"You have to know how to fight; Amber's coming"
"You can fight her, I'm not strong enough"
I sighed, and bent my fingers backwards. My claws extended. I scratched a circle onto the roofing tiles.
I thought back to what started it all.
It all started with Daniel,I guess. He was really sweet. He deserved what he got. It was coming to him. And Her too. My face wrinkled. Amber. Ick. Daniel, tall dark-skinned guy.
When I was still 16, I was best friends with Amber Lacrosse. She was that rich girl from an older family. She always looked so perfect, so delicate. Anyway, Daniel Ross, he asked me out on my 16th birthday. We dated for exactly one year, and then on my 17th birthday, he dumped me. I was devastated. I told Amber I wanted to kill him. She asked me if I would mind if someone else did it for me. I told her yes, I would mind. I wanted to kill him myself. You have to understand. It was just the rage. I didn’t really mean it.Amber invited me to a sleepover. I said yes, us being best friends and all. Her house looked like a castle. I’d never been there before. It had huge stonewalls and turrets. It was like a castle from a history textbook. It even had a moat! But there was no fireplace, and no wood anywhere. It was all beanbag chairs and cushions. We went up into amber’s room after being introduced to her parents. Her mum and dad, Mary and James, were very nice. They had Scottish accents. Mary had brown-red hair and was short. James, on the other hand had grey hair, and he looked like he was millions of years old. We had gone upstairs, and well, Daniel was there, half dead. Amber told me to sit down, she was going to write something on my neck. I trusted her. The next thing I knew, I didn't have any blood, then I had...Well. I was a vampire. I could feel it. I sat up. Amber, well she had done somethings.
She made me do some things I'm not proud of.
I left her, tied with wood and alone with Daniel locked in a wood cabin. I assumed that she had gotten to him, and used him to get out, but....now hes a vampire.
So, now Amber hates me, so I had to protect Cal. And everyone else.
I stiffened. She was near. I could feel it.
Cal walked over to me. "Whats wrong Em?"
"She is here"
I turned into a bat and jumped off the roof. I scrambled into the new house and grabbed my perfume. I dumped the bottle upside down on my head.
I flew back to cal, and gave him a big hug.
"Em, you're sopping wet!"
He hugged me back, and tingles went up my spine. I pulled away. I couldn't risk putting him in danger by...by..loving him.
"Now I smell like a human, why did you have to do that?"
"You know why. She is tracking Vampires, not humans on a roof."
I felt eyes on my back. I forced myself not to turn around. Instead, I walked to Cal and pretended to dance with him.
"Em...."
When the feeling went away, I looked up, looking for an answer in the clouds. But there was a head in the way. Cal's head. I ended up looking into his eyes. He leaned down and tried to kiss me.
I steped backwards, and tripped. I fell off the roof. I turned into a bat mid fall, and zipped off into the forest.
I couldn't do this. I had been 17 for over 100 years. I hadn't gotten that close to someone since...since Chives.
No. I won't think about him. After all, I had managed it for more than 2 months.
I didn't know how to date someone! I couldn't do it!
I wasn't Emma Veracles anymore! I was just Emma.
Ema Veracles had been popular, a cheerleader. I was just a vampire that hadn't been with humans for 100 years.
I hadn't seen a human since..well, I guess Since I had seen Amber. That night, I had left. I had wandered. Until I found Ahri.
I knew I had the old me somewhere. I just had to find her. Then I could deal with everything. She could do anything, except stop her best-friend from killing her.
How was I going to stop Amber?
I'll sleep on it. I won't go back home, too much drama. I got this.
I was staring at the moon, when I felt a thud behind my left shoulder blade, and the world faded to black.
