alright. So here's the deal. He needs to learn a lesson about responsibility and the treatment of others. "One last chance" might do the trick, but it looks like there'll be many more "one last chance"'s in the course of his time here. Maturity will come with his age but as a member of the server he is fully expected to maximize his responsibility and maturity while he's here.
And the thing that bothers me most is when people say "Please don't punish him, he's my friend".
That statement is irrelevant and bears almost NO importance regarding his punishment. Friendship with an existing member doesn't matter on the banning of another.
