Basically, to me. It starts off as just a game. You survive, you build, you explore, you die. You respawn, you try again, you do better, then maybe you try multiplayer. You search for a server, you find one, you dislike it or you like it. You love it or you hate it. You make friends you make enemies. You find a favorite server you usually play on. You make close friends and to you, it isn't a game anymore, it's a community of people from around the world that you can play with.
