Mod and admin are staff ranks. You earn them when you devote your time to this server. You recently got back for a long leave, and I doubt you'll get mod anytime soon purely because of this.
If you want to donate, no one is stopping you.
It is also not a way to be able to build in the flat world.
If one of the main reasons you want mod is to be able to build in the flat world....
Personally, I think that is greed, wanting a rank that you can get for free just because you want to be able to do something. But thats just me.
