Dash

Small flakes of white fall down, coating the land in snow. Everywhere was white, even the tall pines. Cold air nipped my nose, and my fur fluffed up to keep the cold at bay. The twinkling stars lit up the snow, changing the sugar into glitter. My hooves itched with anticipation. Tonight was the night!

Soon warm, cozy light filtered out onto the snow. A jolly laugh filled the air, and a cheery cry sounded.

"On Dasher!" My hooves glowed.
"On Dancer! On Prancer and Vixen!" I heard a creak as the sleigh lifted.
"On Comet! On Cupid! On Donnor and Blitzen!" The night air was flying past me.

My head lifted high, I was the king. My grand crown reached higher than the rest. Only Dancer's equaled mine. Soon I heard him call. "First landing coming up. Ease down now."

Tilting lower, the sleigh bells jingled by the slight movement. Gesturing with my head towards House 1, we landed gracefully ontop of the roof. Snow began to settle on my fur, and I heard Donnor shake off the rapidly gathering snow.

Shhhhwfff! "Ho Ho Ho!" That got me going.

"Successfully delivery. Heading to House 2." As I lifted higher and higher into the cold night sky, I shifted back into routine. Letting the wind increase my speed, I 'ran' forward. Moving faster and faster, I pushed against my harness.

As I became one with the wind, I was my name.
