You'll All Hate Me.
#1
I've got your attention, now you won't able to take your eyes off of this post until you're done. Trust me.

As you might know, I pride myself in writing. Of course I'm being cocky. :3 But I've decided to irritate you all by writing a short story that will make you all hungry. VERY hungry.

So, I would say sorry in advance, however I'm not sorry in the least bit. :3 this is what I do. So, in my sweet, concise conclusion, I introduce to you, A Starry Night Sky, by tobiii1004. ~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A STARRY NIGHT SKY
The moon gleamed pure white on Christmas Eve. Everyone was already back from their Christmas church sermons, and the streets of Liliville were lit up with stars and lights. There was a sturdy Christmas tree in the center of the town square, showing off its twinkling rainbow of tear-shaped lights, ornaments dangling like delicate ballerinas frozen in the middle of a graceful leap. Ribbons and bows covered it from top to bottom.
Belle was one of the bustling people, strolling outside. She had just eaten Christmas dinner, but she was still hungry. Not for a meal, but rather for dessert. She prowled the cobblestone streets, craving something sweet.
Rustling her red hat to shake off the snow, she looked up to see trillions of tiny snowflakes raining down, setting off a white glow in the black night sky. The shops were lively, bustling with excited customers. One store was fairly empty. Belle decided to go in. Trudging towards it, she squinted to look at the sign...
"A STARRY NIGHT SKY BAKERY"
She licked her lips. Maybe they would be able to supply her with dessert. He clutched the door handle and yanked it open.
Immediately, a wave of aromas wafted towards her. Fresh bread, yeasty and full. Cakes, sweet and sugar-sticky, layers of sugary frosting encasing the cakes. Cookies, sweet and fun, chocolate chips melting under the hearts of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Something spicy, stinging pleasantly. Belle stepped to the display case and discovered exactly what she wanted.
Cookies lined the top shelf. All sorts, shapes, and sizes. Snickerdoodles, on the far left. They were wide, flat, with pale dough and a dusting of spicy cinnamon, setting an offset maroon glow on the cookies. Crystalline sugar garnished the top, seemingly melting under the hot steam curling up in ringlets. Chocolate chip were in the dead center. The dough was golden brown, cracking under the weight of dozens of chocolate chips. The chips were melting, gooey and rich brown. Some were curled on top, forming tiny chocolate lace loops overtop of the cookie. Sugar cookies lined the far right. They were light yellow, with colored sugar crystals, pretty little designs folding into the cookies from the freshness.
The middle shelf had cupcakes, the fun part. The far left, there were chocolate cupcakes. The rich brown shade made Belle’s mouth water. Loops and swirls of white vanilla frosting spun over the cupcakes, perfect and ornate. The cupcake was loaded with so much chocolate, it spilled over the side of the wrapper, forming dripping chocolate beads on the side. To the right were vanilla cupcakes. Angel food cupcakes, actually. They were pure white, wrappers straining against the weight of the cake. It looked like it had snowed, powdered sugar danced on the top. Pale pink pearls of icing dotted the top, forming little pink stars over the thick cupcake. In the middle were…well…it was hard to describe. Red velvet cupcakes. They were the star of the cupcakes. Rows and columns of the scarlet cakes sat in the middle. The rich cake was smooth, even. Swirling cream cheese icing garnished the top, in elegant twirls. The white wrapper was no longer white. The dark richness of the cake caused the wrapper to be a pale, translucent red.
The bottom shelf contained the biggest and most delicious desserts. Cakes. All shapes, sizes, flavors, etc. Many cakes were cracking under the strain of their rich, thick layers, melting colorful icing spilling over the edges. Chocolate ornaments were plunged into the top, and dipping arches dangled over the sides. Each cake was one or two layers, split by layers of creamy, rich frosting or ice cream (kept in a colder area). They sat on sheets of colorful wax paper. With confusion, Belle saw in the middle of the shelf, was a tiny pink sign it read,
“The Star Attraction cake has been moved to the opposite counter.~~~”
Slowly, carefully, Belle turned to face the opposite counter. She gasped.
A four layer cake sat on a silver pedestal. The first layer had barely any icing, just rich inches of red velvet cake. Each layer was a different flavor. The red velvet layer was huge, seemingly having a foot and a half diameter. The little icing on it were delicate frosting flowers, pink and white roses, with swooping green stems and leaves. The second layer was vanilla with strawberries over it. The berries were ripe, red, with sweet, sticky juices spilling out of the top, bursting with red flavor. And there were thirteen berries. Belle counted. Vines of white pearlescent icing swooped over the sides, creating elegant piping on the edges. The next layer was chocolate, with thick chocolate fondant layering it. It was garnished by white trellises of icing, sweeping in criss-crosses and swirls all over the sides, top, and edges. Chocolate beads were raining from the sides, in cascading waterfalls of chocolate frozen in time. The final layer…well. It was black forest. No icing or fondant needed to grace this cake. Belle could see the moist, rich cake, black with chocolate and loaded with sweet, sticky, sugar-soaked cherries. The chocolate contrasted with the red of the cherries, creating a dark, sugary look. One cherry was dripping, red juices spilling over the sides of the cake. The chocolate was spongy, the kind of chocolate cake that feels light, airy, and spongy in your mouth, that bounces and is filled with tiny pockets of air, making it light and fluffy as a cloud. Not to mention the syrupy cherries, exploding with flavor and sweetness.
Belle stepped up to the counter, cleared her throat, and ordered a Star Attraction cake at once.
If this didn't make you hungry, I have no idea what will.
You're welcome! :3
