I missed these four dragons so much! It was great to see them.
I flew in the front, with the others flanking my left and right.
Directly to my right, my best friend, the Korean Elegance.
Her name was Cho, and she was the most beautiful out of all of us. We caught up with each other, chatting and poking fun at how much weight we had gained. I loved her like a sister, she was like...like...
Family.
That word pinged in my head. What was it about that? I didn't know why it dinged in the back of my mind, but I'll hold onto it.
To my left, the Circula Sugartongue. Ariana. She was sweet and pretty, with a slim figure and pinkish scales. She was my OTHER best friend, if you will. We talked about the male dragons behind us under our breath, all the latest gossip, etc.
Ariana was like the girly girl I went to.
Behind Cho was the Slovakian Wedgehead. Jack. He was the heartthrob amongst us, with iridescent black and green scales and slim, playing eyes.
Behind Ariana was the Rumblehorn, the jokester of our group. His name was Skeeter. He had big green eyes and reddish orange scales. He had a funny, lopsided smile and a booming laugh and roar.
I loved them so much.
As the ringleader of our group, I was expected to fly us to our dragon world, FantasyLand. It was a place where all the mythical creatures could reside.
My thoughts wandered. I couldn't wait to get home...all five of us shared an enormous lair, carved from a mountain. My room was plush with pink and black.
Pink and black.
Pink and black.
Why was that echoing in my head...? I looked down and saw a pink ribbon on my front right limb. What was that?
I untied the ribbon and held it out in front of me. Telling the other dragons to halt, I loitered there, and watched the fabric.
Miraculously, clean black cursive letters began scribbling themselves across the ribbon. Reading it to myself, my eyes widened in shock.
"Don't forget about us, Alice."
Alice.
Why was that name so familiar?
Suddenly, a tsunami of memories crashed unto me. Two fox girls smiling down at me. Who were they...it was...Ahri! And Colli! A little bird girl peered over her shoulder, looking for wings. Was that...it was Avi! A few boys laughed together. Who were they? I remembered Mason and James...but who was that last one? A tear splashed down my cheek, remembering them.
My friends.
My family.
Cho looked back at me. "Talon, you alright?" She called back.
"I-I-I-I have a story to tell you guys. What I did before the migration."
And so I told them a magnificent tale...
A tale of foxes and shape shifters and bird girls and a bunny girl named Alice...
Talon.
Alice.
They listened in awe as I told them a story of my family.
"How are you remembering all this?" Ariana asked me in awe.
"I keep refreshing the memory." I responded.
"I hate to rain on your parade..." Jack began, his icy blue eyes piercing my heart.
"But once you enter FantasyLand, all your humanoid memories will vanish."
I was lost in his eyes, and I pouted.
"I don't know. All I know is that I have to see them again..."
"And when will that be?" He asked coolly.
"Next year, maybe? The next migration I'll go see them."
And for a few minutes, we flew next to each other, before Cho swatted him away so she and I could talk.
