Hello!
I have been trawling through the forums for a while now, and I have been noticing a trend that isn't very new person friendly. Most people are being very pedantic and examinable towards the trusted applications. We often make the joke on the Staff Applications forum that someone's post is a "Nice Trusted App", but as soon as we enter the trusted applications, the quality control doesn't seem to decrease.
Now I know this is a good thing for some, but we need to remember that these people just want to be trusted, not be allowed to fly a space shuttle. The sheer fact they even bothered to write an application is good enough in my opinion, to have the ability to go back to where you died, and to clear your inventory. The latter of the two doesn't hurt anyone, so why are we being so protected over the commands.
My way of quality control is filtering it by its topic. From Highest scrutiny to the lowest, I say: Staff Apps, Ban Apps, Trusted Apps, In that order.
Please don't bite the newbies...

its stupid! what good is writing if your no good! if they dont make a good app then they obviously dont care that much about the server. my application was huge. and i look back and still like it. my app was a good app. not the ones i see saying hi im Qu3sti0nMark. i would like to be trusted because i never griefed. and never been jailed. when do i get trusted and what commands do i get  " title="Very Happy"> " title="Very Happy"> " title="Very Happy">  " title="Smile">  if they take the time to make a forums account then they can take the time to actually put thought into their account. when i was trusted. i thought it was amazing, i thought i was big. but now i realise its nothing to big. 125 said to me the other day QuestionMarks only trusted!. to me. only trusted isnt only trusted. the trusted rank is my motovation. the server trusts me with the server itself. pretty much the whole server trusts that i can improve on my rudeness. trusted may not be big. but us trusted sure think its big

Qu3sti0n couldn't be further from the point. I'm just trying to say, we need to stop treating trusted applications like they need to be perfect. The Staff Applications is the place where writing quality needs to be enforced, not, as Qu3 is saying, where new members of the server try to make themselves more than just a member. That being said, if you show up on the forums, and just write "Make me Trusted plz", then maybe we'll need to ask you for more. Honestly, I agree with you to an extent. Making an account, and making an application is fair, but there is a sticky at the top of the trusted applications that clearly reads "Trusted Guidlines" If they don't read that to get to know the few things they need to add to make an application acceptable, then I am not going to accept it. Its literally a 2 minute read. They can handle that, and if they can't then they will have to either know the required elements already, or live with being a [member]

I sort of agree, I don't think they need to be perfect, just cover the points set out in the guideline, but on the other hand I don't want to have to read something like "hi mi nam is qu3 and i liek this surver and wnt to b trustd. thx" There needs to be moderation

I know I can be sort of a critic, when I look at trusted apps it's usually right after looking at Ban appeals, so my standard is automatically upped. So for that I apologize, but you guys know me, I'm a major critic in terms of writing. Even the seemingly trivial errors (grammatical, usually) can make a piece of writing difficult to stomach. When I give my critique on something, I do it with a beneficial mindset, but I often forget that these people are applying for a minecraft rank, not the president's inauguration speech. So for that, to any of the members I've been rough on with applications, I apologize, sincerely and truly. I'll be easier.

I agree and dis-agree, I think we should be way less harsh on the players applying for trusted, but on the other hand, we dont want to be giving the rank Trusted to someone who wrote a rubbish app/would mis-use it...
