REVAMPING MCTOPIA STORY
Chapter 10?
As the stars swirled into view, I walked to my room with Purity. The floorboards creaked underneath me, but I wasn't scared. Purity would save me if that ever happened. Dodging the mess of books on the floor, I slither up the ladder rungs to the top bunk. Trying to create a Guiding Light to read with, I slowly reach for a book. Stopping the spell, I put the book away. I'll do one thing before sleeping. One thing. Creaking open my chest, careful Purity would not see, I take out a diary. My diary. Flipping to the second page, which had been finished last night, I start to write. 'Dear Aurora, I can't wait to see you tonight! I learned a spell- "Guiding Light" and I've mastered it.' Thinking thoughtfully, I add, 'I've also named my own constellation Paw Stars. It is two paws, and reminds me of us. Thats about it for tonight. Love, Colli.' Carefully, quietly, I slip the book in my chest. "Go to sleep now, Colli. You're going to wake us all up with that creaking." Purity said. Her voice sounded like chimes in a gentle breeze. Obeying, I nodded and whispered, "Yes Pure." Leaping to the ladder, I dodge the paper wedged between a rung and collapsed into bed. That was close. I heard howls outside. Arooooo! Rooroooo! AROOOOO! They seemed to say, "Don't fall asleep! DON'T FALL ASLEEP!" Smiling at myself, I thought, Why shouldn't I go to sleep if I'm seeing my wonderful Mum, and tribe? Suddenly I was pulled into sleep, not a gentle lull, but a quick, sudden pull. Waking up into my room on a sunny morning, I knew just where I was. Walking along the not creaky floorboards, I skip down to the kitchen to see her. Everyone here now chimed, "Hello Colli!" Nodding at the others, who had just said hello, I pick up speed to find Mum. Standing by the furnace, I saw her. She came in through the doors, bright and happy. "Hello Colli dear! How are you?" I smile and think, How could that be evil? "I'm doing great, Mom. Didja read it yet? I can't help missing you even though I see you every night!" She holds my hand and walks towards the now-new library. Running towards the fire, I crouch in front of the flickering warmth. Aurora (Mum) picked out a book and handed it to me. Whispering, she said, "I'll let you take one book back with you. Ok dear?" She smiled sweetly. I read the title. "Shape-shifting: Beginners". I squealed and hugged the book to my chest. "Thank you so much!" Aurora looked at me, slightly sad. "I'll see you tomorrow, Colli." I faded away, being sent back to the real world. Aurora, when I had faded, tapped something where the book had been. It glowed pink, pushing away a slate revealing a secret storage. All it contained was a dusty book labeled, "Colli's Diary."

I bumbled around in the snow a little, reluctantly eating the carrots James gave me. I was still crying. I couldn't believe I acted like that when I saw the egg. What if something happened? What if I actually...

Nevermind that. I can't tell you what I might have done.

On my trek to the house, I ran into Purity. I quickly transformed into a girl and rushed to greet her.

"Hi Purity!" I bounced.

"Hello, Alice. Why are you out here?"

Oh no. What was I supposed to say now?! I couldn't remind her of how I acted towards the egg. Maybe I'll just pretend to not know anything. Maybe I should just run. Should I lie? Yeah. That's what I'll do.

As I scrambled to form an intelligent answer, Purity was still waiting. I snapped out of my trance, embarrassed to be caught thinking so long.

"I just...needed some air." The sentence came out strangled and choppy.

Purity looked at me oddly. I knew why. She knew better...Purity saw the truth and the good in everyone, which simultaneously gave her the capability to see right through lies.

And what I just said, was a major lie.

She stepped in closer.

"Why did you really leave?"

I faltered.

"You can tell me. The goodness and faithfulness in me will stop me from telling anyone else."

Something told me to believe her.

Something told me to trust her.

Ah, why not.

"Is the egg still there?" I asked. Purity nodded.

"I'm assuming your strange behavior has something to do with the dragon egg Avi found."

I remained silent.

Inhaling deeply, I motioned for her to follow me, walking towards the house.

We trudged in silence for five minutes, leaving light footprints in the freshly fallen snow. I began to wonder why she was outside, like me, all alone. Maybe she was looking for me.

We were almost near the house, and my stomach began to flutter. This was it. I realized EVERYONE was crowded around the egg, so if I showed Purity, I'd be showing everyone. Might as well. They have a right to know. I wouldn't tell them everything. Maybe I'd lie again, despite Purity's capability to detect lies. I wouldn't tell them the full truth, I'd just show them what happens when I'm near a dragon egg. I'd make up some lie about bunnies being allergic to dragons or something.

Stepping inside, the warmth of the fireplace reached its inviting arms to the doorway, where it engulfed us in its hot blankets. We drew closer to the fire, where the egg sat. I glanced at Purity, who was looking at me curiously.

Breathing in slowly, I cleared my throat and spoke up.

"Everyone, can I have your attention!" People stopped their humming chatter to listen.

I took off my leather jacket, leaving only a black tank top and a pink scarf. I removed my black boots, leaving only my black skirt and pink stockings. I tiptoed on stocking feet over to Avi and put my hands on her shoulders.

"As you obviously know, Avi brought home a dragon egg." I stepped back and prepared a lie about bunnies in my head.

"I guess I should tell you I have a fear of dragon eggs." Looking back at Purity, I could tell she knew it was a lie, but played along.

Quickly fluffing my hair, I stepped up to the egg. A rushing sensation came over me. I covered my constellation birthmarks to hide the fact that they were glowing. Breathing in, I heard the others gasp as they witnessed my white ears turn light red. More of a pink shade, if you will. My eyes went from dark brown to red. Not cute at all but this was natural. They saw my pink, full lips burn bright, vampire red.

I spoke, and they recoiled in shock how my voice took on a double sound, one being my normal twinkling voice and another being a deeper, scratcher, metallic harmony.

"So...you'll be like this every time you see a dragon egg?"

I nodded guiltily, knowing that I was an excellent liar, and that everyone minus Purity would believe me. But I began acting strangely again, not myself. I was silent, and my eyes took a hungry, vicious look. I knew I had to stop lying about this and get away from the wretched egg. So I turned into a bunny and popped up the stairs. Turning human once more, I leaned over my dresser and breathed in and out. My whole body was shaking and my skin was an unnaturally pale shade.

I couldn't do this for long. One of had to go. Either me or the egg.

Once I regained my composure and redid my makeup, I came downstairs with a smile.

A fake smile, of course.

Gathered round Alice at the small but strong fire was weird. I never saw my bunny so pale, her eyes so...red. Scarlet even. after she left, then came down again with a smile, I knew something was wrong. she wouldn't leave to come back. well, if she is allergic then I HAVE to get rid of that egg! Running up to my room as the sun rose into a position above the house, I then threw down tons of books. looking for one book. "Dragon Encyclopedia" was its name and I looked EVERYWHERE for it. I still found it hard to believe this house had so many books. Throwing the last book on the ground, I sigh. Now I remember. Ahri took my "Dragon Encyclopedia" from me and stored it in her room. HER ROOM. Nobody had been in there yet. In fact, it was down in the basement. Calling over to Purity, I ask her where Ahri is now. "Ahri? I think she went out hunting for chickens. Left about a minute ago." Purity still sounded perfect as always. "Thanks Pure!" I said. Rushing out, I added, "And be a sis and clean up my stuff!" Purity glanced at my floor, grimacing. "This will take a while..." Starting to put the books back, she looked at titles. Setting aside a few books of her own, she continued. I ran down to the cracked, mossy dining table and turned to the bottom of the stairs. Standing there, cold and menacing, were two iron doors. Locked. Sadly they weren't cracked or old, as Ahri had replaced them with strong doors. I wonder why. Peeking around the staircase, I took a small chunk of cold pork. Last minute I decided to warm it by the fire. Emma was there, watching the egg with curiosity. Relizing I was there, she said, "I wonder what kind it is." Mumbling, I said, "Me too." I was wary of her because, well, who wouldn't be of a vampire? Her red eyes weren't what scared me. It was her gleaming white fangs, capable of drinking my blood just like that. "You don't have to be scared of me Colli." She had noticed my quivering body. Wow she was smart. "I can't help it." I whispered as quietly as I could. Placing a comforting pale hand on my shoulder, she smiled revealing her fangs. Screaming, I ran away with my food terrified. Purity, Alice, and Avi came to see all the commotion. "S-sorry. Emm scared me." Plastering my fake smile, I hoped they would believe it. Purity knew what had really happened when Emma came out of the library looking downcast. I backed away to the old kitchen and ate my warm pork. Then my strength returned to my hobbly legs and quivering arms. My orange ears relaxed and stood rigid and straight in my short brown hair. green eyes gleaming, I try to pry open the doors to the basement where Ahri stays. "Hey! I'm back everyone!" I heard the swirling wind outside and the doors jerked open as Ahri approached the dining room. Oh no.
