The moon stood lonely in the sky, the stars dimly lit. Dreary gray clouds floated around, waiting to cover up the last bit of light, plunging the town in utter darkness. Soon, though, the colored lights blinked on, and the town sparkled with Christmas lights. Wire reindeer posed in yards, while lights were draped over bushes. Every house in town was lit, the lights clearing away bad dreams and shadows. People were jolly and there were many parties. In Sofferville Christmas was important, and everyone knew everyone. This is no place for secrets; people would find it out.
I am an exception though. I have a secret. But of course, no one expects me to. To them, I am an angel that does no wrong. The snow sprinkled down, dusting each housetop with sugar. The lights shimmered off the snow and almost nowhere was pure white. My eyes reached the moon again. It seemed lit by the town, and echoed out light making the night bright as day and the clouds cleared out a path for the reindeer. Soon I heard music, coming from the small party downstairs. I reached into my pocket and grasped a silver bell. Bringing it into the light, I gazed at it. a soft mist sparkled around it, making it look magical. The bell shined like the Christmas lights, and the mist stayed in close range. My brown eyes looked at it lovingly. My secret, still safe. I smiled. Then I slowly rung it.
