I don't have any hacks, or mods (only OptiFine and TooManyItems), but when I log onto the server, the "read" times out! The server is all nice and dandy, and then I log on and everything bad happens

Its not you matt,
I have toomanyitems and many other people have optifine,
It could be that the server is having ram issues, but that stuff you talk about is client side, so it wouldn't crash the server, it would probably crash you client if that was too happen!

Exactly. there also have been a lot of roll backs latley, so the server just need some time to... warm up before it a "run" as fast as usual

Like the rollbacks were a person spraining thier ankle, they need time to recover and can walk some times but if it they walk on it wrong they get hurt and new to rest for a while. Lol
