We lean in and my arms go around his shoulders. Still sitting on the floor, our eyes shut as we go in for another kiss, slower and drawn out now that I know who he is.
It was everything and more that I’d been waiting for.
In the background I hear Robby whistle and Chris pretend to throw up. Eva, Haley, and Bridget squeal with joy.
But we can’t really hear that.
And as we break the kiss and look at each other again, I smile and wait for the hot tears, but they never come. I guess I’m just too happy to even cry.
