The most effective way to defeat a troll is to not give him the satisfaction of getting angry at them. Just agree with what they say and they'll get frustrated. They'll try to take it a step further by saying even more insulting things, but if one can manage to stay strong and not lose their cool, then they can defeat a troll. It takes a troll to beat a troll.
