I don't have money for a good hardware to run linux. I use Mac OS 10.8..

I tried to update Java to 7 many times, and it says it was successful, but I check and it is still Java 6.

Yes. It is the only good hardware I have. It uses terminal and .sh files to startup.

Oh and btw, linux does not take good hardware to use. In fact if there is an operating system that is great for running on complete crap hardware its linux. Obviously if you want to run JVM for minecraft and you are on crap hardware you might have some troubles.

It's because all Macs are good for is school. They suck at running pretty much anything but pages and keynote.
